The American Heart Association, the largest voluntary health organization fighting heart disease and stroke, will hold the 2013 Pioneer Valley Heart Walk on Saturday, May 18th at Forest Park in Springfield. Over 2,000 supporters and survivors are expected to attend. Those looking to start a walk team still have time to register to support the fundraiser.
The American Heart Association is looking to raise over $200,000 to fund the research and education related to heart disease and stroke, the No. 1 and No. 4 killers in the United States. Walkers who raise a minimum of $100 will receive a FREE commemorative Heart Walk t-shirt.
Walk registration will begin at 9:00am at Forest Park in Springfield. The 1, 3 or 5 mile walk will kick off at 10 a.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
